It's true in some cases. It really depends on each school's policy. There are even some schools that have only male students or female students. This is true for colleges and universities as well. Ewha Womans University, for example, only accepts female students and not male students.

(As a side note, Ewha Womans University was founded by an American named Mary Scranton. She believed that every woman has her own identity and importance. So she did not name the school Ewha Women's University. Instead she used the word "Womans" because presumably she did not like the idea of grouping all women as if they are the same.)

It is quite true. Not most, but some highschools are constructed with only boys or only girls. This is true for some colleges, such as Ewha Womans University. I can't exactly tell you the reason of this, but most Koreans don't feel uncomfortable with just male or just female school. They accept it as natural.

Also, sometimes, school separate male and female to the left, and to the right side of the school. I believe that this party came from high educational demand. It feels like "Rather than appeal to the opposite sex, just do your work."

All elementary schools in Korea are co-educational. So, females and males study together in one class without any separation.

But in some middle schools they teach only girls or boys. In other words, there are girls' middle schools and boys' middle schools. There used to more boy's and girls' school. But Things have changed and most of the middle schools now are co-educational without any separation.

When it comes to high schools it's tricky. Like middle schools, there are girls' high schools and boys' high schools. And most high schools are co-educational schools, and there isn't much separation between girls and boys. However,  even though the high schools are co-educational, they have girls' classes and boys' classes to separate different sex in some schools. The reason to separate boys and girls is that they are likely to perform and achieve better when studying with same sex.

Almost all universitises in Korea are co-educational except some women's universities like Ewha womans university and Dongduck women's university . But there are no men's university in Korea except some colleges of Theology for priests.

In Korea, there are high schools with only women or only men. This is being done to curb teenagers' excessive 'interest in reason'. In some middle schools, there are both girls and boys in school, but there are some cases where the classes differ. Uniquely, there is no male university, but there is a female university. Examples are Ewha Womans University and Soongsil Women's University. In fact, I am a student in a high school for girls. In this regard, she feels sad that she cannot meet men in her daily life, but she has a more comfortable school life because she has only a female student. In this regard, personally, I am in favor of it.

Yes there is. The reason why there are separation in korean school is, most of the questionnaire surveys for students are organized in hopes of being divided into classes. Most schools run a mixed class or division according to a majority through surveys. The average score of the college entrance examination, coeducation, is the lowest in all areas, which is why parents repulsion. Parents who need to divide classes insisted that if adolescent children who are sensitive to sex and he or she worries about the wrong problem and the concentration. According to the data, in the language and foreign language field, the average of the standard ability score is the highest for girl's high school, the highest for boy's highschool was repair and coeds and the lowest were rest of areas which are mixed school. In the case of some women's students who approve classifications, it is often necessary to use them in physical exercise time, even if they do not take care of their appearances, even if they do not use their personal appearances, even in trivial parts such as dressing up.

Almost all elementary schools in Korea does not separate boy and girls. However, there are some middle schools that separate students by their genders. Furthermore, there are lots of high schools that only boys or girls go. For example, I am a male student, and i am going to men's high school. Also you can find women's high school like Gyeonggi Girl's High School. Many of universities and colleges have both male and female, but there are exeptions. For example, in Seoul, there are some women's university like Sookmyung Women's University and Ewha Womans University.

Usually, male and female students teach classes together in elementary school, but since middle school, they are divided into male and female middle school and that is more common in high school. However, most of the specialized high schools and science high schools are coeducational.

Not really. It is true that there are some Women Universities such as Ehwa Women's University and Sookmyung Women's University that only accept female students. However, most of the universities in Korea do not have separation between the female and male classes.

Basically, there are three types of school in Korea. Male-only school, female-only school, and coeducational school. Among the coeducational schools, some schools seperate male and female, while the others do not seperate them. As other people answered, it totally depends on each school's policy.

My answer is 'yes'. Not every school, but there is a seperation between the female and male classes. Especially, many high schools separate boys and girls. For example, in Seoul, you can find some girls' high schools. Also, there are boys' high school. I am also a student of a high school where only boys go.

There are also women's university. For example, there is Sukmyeong women's university and Ehwa women's university, which are famous for women's university in Korea. However, most of the universities in Korea does not separate male and female.

In middle schools, there are some schools that separates the classes. For example, when i was middle schooler, i went to a school where boys and girls go together, but the classes were seperated. class 1 to 7 was girls' and class 8 to 14 was boys'.

There are few or no separation in elementary schools in Korea.

To begin with, there are schools in Korea where men and women are separated.

There are 14 women's universities in Korea, and there are quite a lot of male and female high schools in middle and high schools. In addition, even though they are coeducational, they also separate their classes according to their gender. I'm not quite sure why there is such a culture.

But I think it was influenced by the Confucian ideas of Korea. Maybe it's because of the old idea that men and women shouldn't be in the same room. In any case, Koreans don't think it's very strange about separate schools, and many prefer it because it's a good atmosphere or comfortable one.
